Want… something!

I realize this one is “old news”. But as more and more of the controversial ads pop up lately (ie – Miu Miu, Drop Dead, and H&M with their “too-skinny” models), only to be retracted by the demand of some special interest group, some might beg the question, “Why bother? They must know it’ll get pulled within a week!”

Commercials have a short window of time to force an association upon you. Thus, ads like the original Angels Axe commercial (pre-edited for TV) are a perfect example of Kat William’s philosophy on haters: Even if you loathe their ad, they know full well that even haters have to accomplish one important thing – talking about you/your product.

-“What a despicable commercial!”
-“I’m not familiar; what was wrong with it?”
-“They had angels FALLING! From heaven! And smashing their halos!”
-“Why?”
-“For carnal desire.”
-“All in one minute? Sounds deep… How did they market this for a product?”
-“Well, the man smelled irresistible to the angels.”
-“Sounds more like a joke; But okay – what cologne was he wearing?”
-“It’s actually not an ad for a cologne… it’s called…”

(It’s “called” marketing.)

Bam. Your haters are your propagators.
