When you’re a regular 19 year old who is late to work, you’ll either get a lecture or let go.

When you’re a 19 year old pop star who does it, however, nobody is going to let anything go.

Case in point: Justin Bieber is seemingly receiving some serious crowd-hate after showing up on stage for his show… two hours late. Crowds of kids with curfews booed him en masse once he finally arrived.

I wrote something a while ago about how kids “shouldn’t worship” or “seek truth” from any pop star just because they’re famous or attractive; but that (despite his poor sartorial choices), this kid did indeed start out with some serious talent and that at least he has a job (unlike some loser guys who have a decade plus on him).

Hopefully this is a one time thing – for his sake; but blaming his own tardiness on the media is not a good look. In the age where you don’t need any media outlet to explain yourself and have Twitter at your fingertips, a good “I’m wrong and I’m sorry” goes a long way. An apology should have been issued for that.

And for his hair.

Macro take home message? It’s rude and stupid to keep the people who pay you waiting. Apologize if you do.

Micro take home message? It’s rude to keep those who made you famous waiting. Your fanbase and fashion can share a funeral soon.
