Quick question, True Detective watchers:

Did you die slightly inside as you marathon viewed this dark albeit very quotable series? And did you liven back up by reminding yourself, “It’s not real” (as you switched to SuperSoul Sunday reruns for the next week to layer over the viscous sickness that infected your soul’s bloodstream somewhere around the finale)?

Well, get prepared for a secondary death. Because it is real.

It did happen.

If you don’t have time to watch that whole video – the main recap is that a lot of the very disturbing details having to do with ritualistic animal slaughter and child molestation, church-service style, “in the name of satan” match up with the series painfully closely. As you might expect, however, it wasn’t just two badass cops taking down some fatass lawnmower pedophile. Rather, the fatass pedophile turned himself in, and slowly “confessed his sins” to the detective who wisely utilized this ironic “moral” weak point to lure the words right out of the dude (and a ton of detectives worked the case, trying to nail the other bastards involved who didn’t come forward voluntarily). The cop’s apt claim – that you “catch more flies with honey” worked – inasmuch as the kids’ testimonies and horrid sketches depicting the acts, matched the monster’s words.

What bothered me is this video (aside from the obvious) was something at the start.

Maybe I’m missing some context, but when the first authority says that the molestation “didn’t surprise him” and that they “see that all the time” – but that the satan worshipping elements were what really kept him up at night… something seems slightly off to me. If that’s the attitude they have toward toddler-fckking in the south, no wonder churches like these end up happening.

Thing is, someone educated me recently – this shiz isn’t even how most Satanists operate.

Not at all. They’ve gotta code of ethics and everything.

Did you know that? ’cause I sure didn’t didn’t.

(Not sure what Rob’s avatar is, but it definitely undermines whatever he’s trying to say.)

It even reportedly features specific demons to ward children away from molestation. Then recently, I saw a children’s game book of crosswords and puzzles making the trend section of twitter and facebook alike. Glancing over it, the theme seemed to be more Nietzche-like than anything – where our humanity is what’s celebrated versus some ethereal being. Do I like it for me? Only as much as I like Catholicism for me: which is not at all. But for others? I say, if you’re not kiddie diddling and dog slaughtering (sorry voodoo – I might be judging you-you), then do ya thang. I don’t care if you bow to a beanie baby so long as you do no harm.

Likewise, pentagrams and crucifixes have zero to do with this depravity.

Although I referred to the pedo above as a “monster” – he’s not. He’s a human man, which is a far, far, far more terrifying thing than the non-reality of some winged incubus or getting double penetrated with satan’s horns. Angels and demons are icons. Metaphors. And they’re often excuses to corroborate what misdirected souls want to believe – whether that’s good or bad – just like when he said in his confession that he’d “mutate into different entities, literally” during the abhorrent acts. Unless you’re truly schizophrenic, that claim’s just a dogshit excuse for doing horrible things behind closed doors, blaming it on mysticism, and relieving yourself of culpability.

The horror and innocence-thieving that is molestation has been a thing happening in the god-church and the anti-god churches alike for ages. It’s even happened all the way back to our favey ancient philosophers who were the knowledge seeking “true detectives” of their time. Plenty of those old bastards kept around little boys (referring to what they did to them as “natural”). You can call it what you want to – a tear stained rose by any other name. And I’m not sure how much of a “norm” it was in retro times, but it’s definitely deemed pretty much the worst thing you can do now. So, at end (or beginning. or middle) of the day, it is an internal issue. Not some external force we’re powerless over, donning halos or horns. We can’t blame some transmogrification of “satanism” like what happened in Louisiana any more than we can blame Christianity for what the KKK does to this day or Islam for ISIS.

As for the non-harmful modern Satanism, it actually sounds pretty familiar!

Like a nice version of how every Christian I’ve ever met acts the other 6 days a week.

Arguably all 7.

“Dear Peter:

You’ve been very good this week.
So I’ve gotten you a gift.
It’s sitting to your left.
Enjoy!
